In 2018 I officially released my latest book of poetry, Shadow Work, a collection of poems written over the past couple decades, many of which were originally published in other books. Some poems were new and had not yet been published.
I write with a unique voice in free-verse lyrical style, short lines, and a lot of imagery. Writing has always been a way for me to process my life experiences, learn and grow from them. Creative writing has been a way for me to explore myself more deeply and share my findings in their almost unconscious abstract ways.
Monica Renee Martin is responsible for the photography used for the cover of this book. These images were captured during a spiritual practice of connecting deeply with emotions amplified by music embodying the emotions, producing essential connection and cathartic release.
