The Fine Art of Obsolescence is a concept book of natural street art photography.
At the beginning of smart phone proliferation, SOMA, San Francisco was littered with outdated payphones which had taken on the wear and tear of street life. Having a high resolution camera on my personal phone was a realization of how far we had come with phone technology in such a short time. Merely a decade early I might have carried change in my car or pocket to use a public pay phone.
The images in this book were taken by an early iPhone and black and white 35 millimeter film on the streets of SOMA in San Francisco, CA.
